Employment & Skills

Our Employment and Skills programme, offers accredited and non-accredited employability and skills training for unemployed people, with a focus on people who face barriers to work. We have designed multiple pathways into volunteering, work placement and employment, designed to take advantage of the growth in the cycling sector.

At Bikeworks we offer the following modules, dependent on what you want to achieve, the skills you already have, and where you are in your employment journey.

Courses range from a couple of days for the Introduction to Cycle Mechanics course, 10 days for an accredited City & Guilds L2 Cycle Mechanics course, and 4-8 weeks for an accredited City & Guilds L1 or L2 Employability course.

Based on what you want to achieve and the goals you have in mind, we will support you in building a personalised programme to suit your needs.

Courses take place at Victoria Park and the VeloPark in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, East London.

The programme is currently open to unemployed people who live in Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest, or Hackney.

This programme is designed to support people who face barriers to employment, for example, disabled people, women, people age 50+, people from the BAME communities. If you are an unemployed London resident and are interested in the programme but do not meet the above criteria, please DO submit an enquiry form as additional opportunities may become available.
