All Ability Clubs
What is it?
Our trained team of experienced Inclusive Cycling Instructors support people, including those with learning, physical and/ or sensory disabilities, to access and enjoy cycling.
We provide an exciting range of specialist cycles, the fleet includes trikes, tandem tricycles, wheelchair platform cycles, side-by-side and recumbent cycles. The team provide advice on riding the right cycle and provide any adaptations required.
Attendees receive encouragement, tips and advice, and are free to cycle around the park independently, or with friends, family or carer.
The All Ability Clubs are free to access for young people and adults.
These sessions are designed for individuals who live, work, or study in specific boroughs, and residential criteria apply. Please check in the individual club pages to check your eligibility. Due to funding restrictions and high demand, priority will be given to residents of these boroughs.
Carers, family members, and friends are welcome to join in and share the experience. Please note that one-to-one support is not provided — participants with complex needs must be accompanied by a carer, support worker, or companion.
To access the All Ability Club you will need to provide us with your details and sign a consent form. Once we have your details, at each session you come to, we only need to record your attendance.
Our experienced Cycle Instructors will support you in finding the right cycle, we provide you with a time for riding, at busier times this may be a shorter time. We advise to come earlier and make use of our quieter periods.
If you are a group of more than four people please email all.ability@bikeworks.org.uk This means we can support your needs on the day. Our sessions are popular and we want to provide the best cycling experience to everyone.
When you first attend a club we will register you, taking personal details, for example name, address, date of birth and you will need to sign a consent form. Information is used for the internal monitoring of All Ability Club usage. Any information shared with funders is anonymised.
Volunteers play an important role at Bikeworks. Our All Ability Clubs has a welcoming environment, providing opportunities under guidance of our team of experienced Cycle Instructors.
