Join Bikeworks for a Summer of Inclusive Cycling Activities

Sport England has funded Bikeworks to provide the local community with events throughout May to September 2022.  These events will shine a light on the impact and legacy over 10 years stemming from the London Olympic & Paralympic Games in 2012.  This will be a Summer of exciting inclusive events where everyone can get involved for FREE, no matter what their cycling ability or their experience.

Events & Activities

Established by the Mayor of London in 2013 as an Olympic legacy event from the 2012 London Games. the world’s greatest festival of cycling returns, with a new format, exciting new routes and a new partnership with Essex County Council

In addition to the RideLondon (above) there will be a number of other cycling-focused initiatives that anyone can enjoy for free. FreeCycle will return to the capital over the same weekend, shutting eight miles (5km) of roads to traffic in central London, giving cyclists of all abilities and experience the chance to tour London’s most famous landmarks while on two wheels.

Celebrating the Platinum Jubilee & highlighting the Commonwealth Games

Destination St James – The Mall and Horse Guards Parade
Start at Victoria Park, via Victoria Park taking in the sights of London’s Royal venues. Includes The Mall, Horse Guards Parade, landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Whitehall.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is to join Londoners in igniting an “anniversary legacy flame” at the QEOP. Live performances and workshops from the V&A, BBC and Sadler’s Wells theatre, highlighting the cultural and educational East Bank district and development of the QEOP.

5 day of inclusive cycle try outs for the public

The best cyclists and para-cyclists within the Commonwealth Nation will compete in the Sprint/Para – Sport Tandem Sprint, Time Trial and Individual Pursuit.
An action packed 4 days as cyclists and para-cyclists compete.

A decade ago on the 9th Sep 2012 saw the last day of the Paralympics. Bikeworks is celebrating as a legacy partner, inspiring others on this day, showcasing inclusive cycling and our role
