At Bikeworks we’re recruiting freelance Cycle Pilots in east London to support our Ride Side-by-Side cycling service.

Cycle Pilot training will be held throughout August in Victoria Park, E3.

Ride Side-by-Side increases physical activity and overall well-being, engaging with people who are excluded from cycling, for example, older people, or people with a visual impairment. Using an electric-assist e-cycle that can seat up to four people including the cycle pilot, these bookable journeys take people out together for leisure, or to an appointment, or even to pick up the weekly shopping.

We are looking for people who are:
sociable, able to make people feel comfortable who may be shy or nervous
    good at listening, and patient
    confident cycling on the road
enjoy cycling, you’ll be required to cycle for between 2 to 5 hours in one day
able to follow routes using a navigation app and create your own short routes
You are required to hold an enhanced DBS check and a First Aid at Work certificate. An average day is between 2.5 hours and 5 hours at £18 p/h. Days and hours are flexible with most work during weekdays.

The cycle is stored in a shipping container which needs to be levered open to access the cycle and maneuver down a ramp, so you’ll require some upper body strength.
