We run a range of different employability options, aimed at different groups and stages of the employment journey.

Bikeworks has run employment and training services for the last 8 years and during that time we have had significant impact on a large number of people. We have traditionally focused on offering training in bicycle mechanics, with the aim of progressing participants into work as a mechanic. We operated in a stepped process and traditionally targeted those furthest away from work. We found that by running progressive courses in a staggered manor we were able to engage with people and prepare them for employment slowly. Working this way saw us get over 100 people a year back into employment.

We are continuing this work on a smaller scale and offering a level 2 qualification, the level required to work as a qualified mechanic, commercially for people who know they want to work as a mechanic and already have some skills.

We are now looking to branch out and develop a more inclusive training programme with broader employment outcomes. This employability course utilises our experience in All Ability cycling, working with people with learning disabilities and our employment and training experience.

You can find more information on each of our programmes on our main employability page here, or drop us an email on [email protected]
