“I really enjoyed this course and learned so many of the things I wanted to. I genuinely couldn’t wait to get to the centre each day and was sad when it finished. There was good support and camaraderie from the other participants. Receiving a copy of the Big Blue book was much appreciated and provides excellent detail to work through outside the course.”

David, City and Guilds Level 2 Participant

FAQs:

The course is an intense 10 days and prior maintenance knowledge is needed.

We run one-day beginner and advancd maintenance courses which provide the necessary experience required for the City & Guilds courses.

Each module consists of a practical and small written assessment. Each unit is assessed at the end of the tuition. You get plenty of time to practice the content before the assessment. Because the assessments take place at the end of each unit, you must be able to attend every day of the course.

Upon successful completion of all assessments, you will achieve a City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Cycle Mechanics.

We have a variety of bikes which reflect the type of bikes you will encounter as a London cycle mechanic.

You only need to bring a pen and notepad and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Everything else (tools, aprons, workbooks) will be provided. For lunch there are many shops local to both training centres.

It’s up-to-date with the latest information, procedures, and techniques, covering everything from minor adjustments to complete overhauls.

It features clear, step-by-step instructions, high-quality photos and useful charts and graphs to thoroughly explain and demonstrate hundreds of repairs.

The Big Blue Book is the perfect reference guide for mechanics of any experience level.

Please contact us to discuss your learning needs.

This is a great course for any experienced cycle mechanics to receive a professional qualification for the skills already being used. We recommend if you want to progress your career.

City & Guilds is a recognised qualification, it will make you stand out with any employer.

We are open to anyone of any age taking part in the course, and we understand how valuable taking part in a course like this can be for young people. Under 16’s must be accompanied by a paying adult, and 16-17 year olds must have written consent from a parent or guardian to participate.

We recommend you bring your own bike to practice on, however we have a number of training bikes for you to try.

Both training centres have a fridge for your lunch as well as tea and coffee.
