Book a Level 2 City & Guild Cycle Mechanics Course

Who is it for?

The course is for anyone who wants to learn advanced bicycle maintenance, either to further their career in the cycle industry, start a new career, or for cycle enthusiasts.

The 10 day course, at the world renowned Lee Valley Velopark, will teach bike mechanics the City & Guilds "Level 2 Cycle Mechanic" standard - the industry standard qualification for professional mechanics.

What does the course cover?

A 10-day Level 2 course covers: Repair a cycle puncture, remove and replace a cycle rim brake assembly, carry out a systematic cycle check, remove and replace cycle gear systems, remove and replace cycle hub bearings, remove and replace cycle bottom brackets and cranks, build a cycle wheel, prepare frames and forks for cycle assembly, augment a cycle (fitting accessories), change a cycle frame, service cycle headsets assemblies, remove and replace cycle braking systems.

What should you bring?

Something to take notes on (laptop or notepad). All tools, workstands, aprons, and other equipment will be provided. You don’t need to bring a bike but are welcome to bring your own. We provide aprons and gloves, but suggest you wear old clothes.


Please note: We may have to cancel sessions with fewer than 4 participants, and move participants’ bookings to a suitable future date.
Cancellation policy: We require at least 4 weeks notice before the start date to give you a full refund. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations with less than 14 days notice.
Payment: Payment can be made in full, or you can reserve a place on our next course with a £250 deposit. If a deposit is paid, the remainder will need to be paid 14 days before the course start date.
